    Wax on wax off

Did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

How long should the final coat on the neck be left sit before waxing and should it be steel wool'd or fine sanded before wax.

The Tuff Dog neck has been sitting for about two weeks since I did the last final coat and I want to get on with the waxing so I can do the neck / fret fettling

Are talking about the Fretboard, or the back of the neck?

Fretboard isn't an issue because it's still raw but it will all be done together

Ahh, ok. I didn't realise that wax could be used on the neck. I would have thought it would have minimised the slickness.
I've only used lemon oil on my fretboards, and I've never had a maple FB, so I'm obviously not the one to be talking too!!

Hey Dave I've moved into the camp that leave things for weeks to cure but I think as a general rule if you can no longer smell the finish should be ok to wax up

I'd Be interested to hear the resolution also, all my fretboards are Rosewood or ebony and i've only ever used lemon oil, The TLA-TH is my first with a maple fretboard so that knowledge may come in handy.

SO far everything I've found suggests "Wonder Wipes" or nothing at all on a Maple Board. I shall keep digging.

Edit: Even the Ernie Ball MM factory guys apparently use "Wonder Wipes" according to their forum. Other suggestions include just using a good guitar polish or orange oil and being meticulous about wiping off the excess.
