Here's a recording that Bob, Max and I did a few years ago that I have just done a remix of, this was recorded in 2009 before I had a DAW of any sort so we paid a guy for his time and equipment ( Cubase 5 ) each track was a single take except the bass, I had to redo it because I had a noisy lead and one of the harmony tracks also took two takes.
The bass and electric guitar were DI and all of the rest was through an SM57
The mix is done in Reaper from the original raw project wave files, the only non Reaper plugin I used was Voxengo SPAN to have a look at the waveforms when applying the EQ to each track and the Master.
There are no drums only a woodblock, the sound we were aiming for was a singalong campfire type thing with the harmonies along the lines of The Stattler Brothers
