A big thanks to both Gav's on the forum for giving me advice on how to make one of these.

The only real difference between mine and theirs is that mine is in a plastic box. This is just a precaution to reduce a fire risk. I have some plans to put in a fuse at a later stage.

Cheers Deddy. Heres a small video of it in action. I've got a few tweaks for it but in essence, its doing what its supposed to do!

Looks great. Difficult to tell in the vid but does it also rotate the other way for reverse winding middle pickups?

I think it is great but to be honest; what am I looking at? I know what 'winding' does but I only see something turning. I do not see any wire or so? Perhaps a vid 'under the hood'?

You attach the bobbin to the piece of wood that rotates, having soldered one end of a spool of wire to it. The red LED display is a counter to show how many turns of wire you've put on. It's just the motor inside the box, which is also useful for housing the counter, speed control knob and switches.

Yeah, sorry about the quality. Thats just the beta test for it. I'll post better pics of how its made soon enough.

The switch in the midle position is off, up is counterclockwise and down is clockwise

So long as it does the job successfully it matters little how it looks.... but it certainly looks the part...

Thanks Marcel, thanks to the Pablo pepper clan the pick up winder is much better now. In fact, I wound my first set of Strat pups the other day. Haven't tested them yet but they work! I have a lot to learn!
