    You live and learn. You could just re-use that template. You've probably marked where the pocket goes on the wood, so all you need to do is increase the length of the pocket cut-out in the template and then move it forwards so that the end of the template cut-out sits on the end-of-pocket line on the body.

    @Simon,
    I never thought about just moving the template back and you are right it would work, but I want to include the pickup routing in this same template so I can rout the whole lot at the same time, so I will most likely make another one, at least I can use the neck pocket template to cut a neck pocket in my neck pocket template, haha.

    @ Stan
    Thanks Stan I have always enjoyed your builds and your guitars turn out real nice.

    Today I am going to attempt to build a router and saw table to help with some of the upcoming work in this build, I don't possess the mad hand tool skills that Robin has (that guy is incredible ), I prefer to use jigs to keep everything where I want it. I am looking to use the table saw and router to cut a uniform piece for the fretboard.

    spent most of today working on the router table/ saw table, Got most of it done, I still have to make some guides and fences for it at the moment I have used the saw by just clamping a fence to the table top. I wanted to make it interchangeable so I didn't have to make room for a whole other bench in the shed, at least now when it's not in use I can still put my standard bench top back on over the top. I used the saw to rip the dunnage down to 10mm for a fretboard blank which I will still have to sand down further. Not sure if I will use it or not.Click image for larger version.

    Thanks Stan,

    I'm sure I saw it somewhere ages ago so I can't take the credit for it. I think that the large base whether it be the full size or just the aluminium insert will come in handy also when freehand routing or with jigs.

    I'll keep that in mind Stan. Always plenty of art on here to copy, damn it, I'll get the hang of it sooner or later.
