looks bloody nice Pablo, I just started on my first scratch build a couple of weeks ago and it as a very similar jazzmaster style shape, I want to double bind mine though. Are you building your own neck or using one of the pitbull ones?
love this build Pabs and nice save with the binding.
I have a kit with cracked binding and if it is anything at all like the fix you have done, I can almost guarantee you any stain will leach in some how.
Not sure how, but protect the join as best you can - it may not take up the stain, but if it does, there is no getting it out

Cheers guys, I'm really enjoying working on this one.
DK, I've been following your build and have noticed the similarity. Great minds think alike, hey? Lol. Coming along very nicely. Good luck with the binding, go slowly. I am building my own neck, for better or worse.
Wokka, this is the bit...
and, yeah, you gotta sand the edges to final shape otherwise the binding channel will be wonky and you'll end up with uneven thickness.

The piece of camphor wood you're using to make the body sure has a nice grain pattern going on it pablopepper.
Thanks, Doc. Would have been nice if I could have got the grain a bit straighter, but thems the breaks.

nice job on the binding Pabs. At least you learnt that the horn is the hardest part ie must pre-bend it to the shape. This is going to be a killer axe

Finally got some wood to start on the neck. Big shout out to Andy for the tip. Watt's Timbers in Salisbury is a great little hidden gem. Right in my neighborhood and had never come up in any of my searches.
Anyway, I ended up snagging a nice piece of QLD maple for necks and red gum for fretboards. More than enough for two (or more likely one and a stuff up), less than $50. Super happy.
