    this is so great!

I went to the Salamanca Markets in Hobart a couple of weeks ago, where there were a number of stalls where guys were selling products made from all sorts of beautiful timber ...
... all I could think about was what great guitar bodies some of those fancy breadboards would make!!!

Got the top and bottom levelled this afternoon and then trimmed to shape.

Templated and bandsawed really close to shape.

    Trimmed and sanded.

The pattern following bit was a bit blunt so clean up on the spindle and disc sander to neaten it up.

    Came out pretty nice.

Next is the neck pocket and then decide on whether to bind or not.

Decisions have been made. Binding is happening.

Needed something to do over the long weekend anyway.

nice work on the binding channel Pabs, what setup were you using, a router with the correct size bearing/bit ?

will be best to route your neck pocket before gluing the binding on

Managed to find a flush cut router bit and bearing combo that cut a perfect groove for the binding I've got. So that was pretty lucky. Decided that I'm not going to cut the neck pocket until ive got the neck mostly built. Actually, this will be the last step on the body until then. Even though all the templates are made I figured it's better to be safe than sorry. Binding won't effect cutting the pocket.
