    GR-1SF dimensions

    Greetings, folks!

I have a question that I has hoping one of you could answer for me.

I plan on ordering a GR-1SF kit in 2 days when I get paid, but i'm a bit confused about the thickness of the body.

Under "dimensions" on the pitbull site, it says 8cm...which is around 3.15 inches (sorry for the conversion...I live in the United States) however, the Gretsch Silver Falcon, which this guitar is based on, is somewhere between 8 and 9 inches (22ish) cm thick. Are the dimensions just listed incorrectly on pitbull's website, or is there really that much of a difference?

It's not a deal breaker either way, I'm just curious as to what to expect when my jew kit comes!

Thanks in advance. All of you guys are always SUPER helpful!!

    Cheers!
    Crash

It's a jazz box not an SG and various build pics suggest around 20cm+

Hi Crash, you could PM someone who has built one do a search for GR-1SF. I think you must have made a mistake a guitar 8 -9 inches thick would be like playing a massive box, it wouldn't be playable !
I think those dimensions would be the size of the kit box that the kit is shipped in.
You could PM Shazzrandom and I think JB Retro have built that kit and ask for the width, but I think 8-9cm (3.15 - 3.54") would be about the thickness of the body

I posted some basic measurements when the kit was first released, hopefully that'll help (don't worry, the bridge support issue has been fixed in later kits).

Yes, I realize it's not an SG...and that Hollow Bodied guitars are thicker than solid bodied ones. Thanks for that gem of wisdom, and the helpful comment.

Just spoke with Adam. 84mm is the magic number.

Hey Crash, Weirdy posted that the maximum thickness is about 115mm so presume thats the highest point of the archtop but side thickness 84/85mm thick. Divide by 25.4 to get your rubbish imperial units hahah
