@ Simon, Its a very old guitar, like 90's. I think you are right he probably referred to it as a Warmoth one just meaning its a partscaster. yeah, loads of bits of maple in there, but looks cool.

@doc, yeah originally I thought it was Ash until my sanding went no-where!. I think those Kent Armstrongs are worth about $240. They do sound sweet though. I'll have to jump on your mega build diary sometime and see how that strats going.

@ Waz, yeah many coats of truoil darkened it up a bit.

To tell you the truth, I'm kind of a bit embarassed about how long my Gold Strat build diary has gotten, technically I should have had it finished last year but I guess I didn't anticipate how things would actually pan-out, but I can say that I did have a lot of fun in the process anyway, and I guess that's what really matters, hopefully in a couple of fortnight's time I'll get round to ordering the new SuperVee Bladerunner bridge, and the new pickups for it, I'll make sure I post plenty of pics for everyone to check out once the final re-build process starts, I've checked out how the body looks with the white pearloid scratchplate in place and it does look cool with the Gold paint, I'm just debating in my head whether I should opt for Gold knobs and selector switch tip, or go with the white ones, both look equally good.
