Thread: Scarnon' lads?

    Scarnon' lads?

G'day lads, just had surgery on my nose so thought I'd want a hobby to help me recover - turns out I settled on guitar building.
    Located in Perth

Got a pretty rad collection going:

    - Adam Rice custom Tele, 1 piece Canadian Swamp Ash body w/ birdseye maple fretboard and Porter pups.
    - 1978 Fernandes Sunburst Stonehead Strat
    - 1970's SAKAI Les Paul DC
    - Bacchus Woodline Ash 4
    - Kasuga Rickenbacker 4001 copy
    - 1974 Fender P Bass
    - Weird-ass Russian Hollowbody bass from the 60's.
    - Hofner Colorama in need of a bit of TLC

Looking forward to adding some personal pieces to the collection, starting with the RC-1M!

I'm sure I'll have heaps of questions and hopefully one day I'll be good enough to help out another newb(uilder.)

    Cheers
    Daniel

welcome to the forum Daniel, good to see another Perth-ite builder !

Good luck with the first build, start a build diary and ask any questions you have there

@ Dedman he said he was starting on a RC-1M, I assume the M is for mahogany body/neck

@ Daniel would love to see some pics of your axe collection ! Can see the swamp ash tele in your avatar looks good !

Welcome Daniel and that pine Tele wouldn't be a Kirn Barn Buster by any chance would it ??

@dave.king - Nah mate, it's a custom jobbie made way back by Adam Rice, a local luthier.

@wokka - Won't disappoint. Will have some tasty pics of the entire collection up soon, but for now here's what the family looked like before Christmas. (No SAKAI DC, Kasuga Rick or Tele, Strat is a Fernanded Burny Custom that I actually traded for my newer strat.)

First build like I mentioned before is going to be the RC1M - Picked it up today and am rather excited. Any tips? I usually rush into stuff like this and am making a conscious effort to slow down and take my time so I can have something I can be proud of.

collection looks great Daniel even if it's missing a few axes.

Do a mock build of the RC-1M make sure it all fits together and all the parts are there and there are no major issues.

Then get some sandpaper 120 grit up to about 400 grit and start sanding !
