Very nice red.

I'd use 2 clear coats at least over the decal if you don't want to leave a raised area where the decal goes. By nature it's very easy to sand through any raised edges in the clear round the decal and expose the edges of the decal sheet, so you need a bit of thickness in the clear to avoid doing that. (You may already be doing this but you said 'one final coat' so I had to say something just in case).

Really appreciate the advice Simon, will put at least 2 on.

Btw ive used 1k clear to finish the headstock, ill apply the headstock then clear....question.....will the next coat of clear stick without sanding as i dont want to ruin the decal, and im worried about sanding before decal application as it might leave a dead spot underneath. Any suggestion Simon or anyone reading this?

Finished all the coats on the body, been hanging for a week. Was finished in 2k nitro.

did a buff and polish and have now completed the copper insulating.
All ready for headstock logo,reassemble, stringing and intonation. Already checked the wiring, all ok.

Unless the clear's been left to dry for a couple of months, it should go on straight over the top. If in doubt, just drag some 400 over a couple of times with almost no force at all.
