Same reaction with me too.
Don't care too much for any US based scientific safety data as it is mostly BS paid for and provided by the manufacturers not independent sources, as is the case with many products we are led to believe are safe to use.
Inhaling might not kill you initially, well, not in one isolated session but over exposure will take it's toll just like with all chemicals. Remember how not too long ago we were told DDT and much other chemical nasty stuff was safe? Currently banned in most western countries but probably still being used in developing ones instead. Big business has too much money tied up in these things to simply roll over and bow to environmentalist or government pressure. Same thing was said about Asbestos too and look where we are today.
Best to be sensible and take precautions rather than unnecessary risks.

CA certainly gives off some nasty vapours, been caught out once, and I was only glueing a small job but that was enough. Now use in a well ventilated space and I reckon eye protection and a P2 mask for sure. Got plenty at work.....
I've never suffered any reaction to CA vapours. Maybe we get a slightly different formulation? Wouldn't think so but you never know.
Didn't have a reaction, but the brief burning sensation up the nose is enough of a warning shot. I work in Emergency Response on a large industrial site, and I would look a bit silly if I was brought down by something like this.....
Remember, "a truely wise man does not play leapfrog with a unicorn".
Having a Cert IV in OH & S has not stopped me taking calculated risks at home whilst nobody is watching or recording what is going on and I rarely suit up in all the protective gear. Rubber gloves, yes as a minimum when handling stains & finish, wear glasses most of the time but often take them off for close up work and it was the vapours coming off CA glue that affected me with or without glasses on through initially mild watering, then stinging, all in a well ventilated area. Obviously some people may react differently to another when exposed to chemicals and this little container of stuff comes with the following printed on the label "Warning: Eye and respiratory irritant. Bonds to skin in seconds." It was this stuff that I used.....
