Gav's Super-Strat Build (Thank's Andy!)

hi guys,
Progress is slow, but gettng the TO coats on. I think I'm up to about 5 coats now. Colour really isn't black, but I'm digging the grain.

Looks a lot like my Swampy Tele that is nearing the final top coat stages.

More slow progress. I finally got an hour to shape the headstock (traditional Strat) and apply some Colortone Lemon Yellow before a first coat of Tru-Oil. There's something really satisfying about oiling rock maple!

Looking good, Gav. That lemon yellow certainly is a lemon yellow!

Thanks guys. Yeah Andy it's not as black as maybe it could have been, but I do like the grain. The sun does seem to wash it right out. Unfortunately I do think I sanded too finely in the first place. Simon, the lemon is something different for me. It's darkening up very quickly with each new coat of TO, but still wont look quite as dark as the Colortone Vintage Amber goes! Anyway I do like the combination. Hoping to see this bad boy finished this month!
