    Strat 'o' Tele

    Hi, my first post here.
I did a search to try & not duplicate an idea already presented - plus what the hell do I search for? strat o tele? hard-tail? - both of those came up with nothing in the vein of what I have in mind.

I was thinking of putting a Tele style bridge on a Strat style body, because of the comfort factor those body shapes provide. I have a couple of bodies (Strat) lying around (one new Eden Ash body & neck still in the box) & it looked too hard to try fitting an 'ashtray' on a trem routed body.

The idea is still valid though just a hardtail body would be the right thing to use.

    As a kit

    - neck options St or Tele neck pocket - reverse headstock T style or St style + maple or rosewood

    - pickup routing options could/would be the same as the custom options for T style.

So I guess it adds up to a Tele Style kit with a Strat Style body.
    Some thing to think about.

Many images come up in a google search with 'tele bridge on a strat'

Hi Zen welcome to the forum !
You will need to some modifications. There is a super strat kit available may suit that has a hardtail bridge, so you would just need to modify the bridge pup cavity to fit the angled single coil bridge pup. The jack is a standard strat boat style jack like your photo.
Here is the link to the kit

think that kit would need the least amount of mods. All the other strat kits will have the tremelo cavity all the way through the body and the spring cavity for the tremelo

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression about all this.

I offer this as an idea for a kit - I am not asking how to do this.

ah ok Zen. Doubt PBG would make this a readily available kit as there are already well over 100 kits available. You could order it as a custom order or modify a kit like I explained or Hobastard suggested a tremelo plug

I think Andy40 has a build diary of his Strat O Tele in the Build Diaries section.
