Looking at the photo of this axe it looks like a volume only job and either pot will do but would suggest trying the 'A' one first as that has a gentler roll off than a 'B'.

Suggest having a look at wiring diagrams for a LP Jnr as they only have one single coil PUP and you could ignore the tone control perhaps...refer below link where you would ignore the tone pot and just run the earths off the back of the Vol pot. You could also experiment with running a capacitor like on the tone pot on the vol pot instead to see what that does. If you don't like it you could always snip it off.

    Cheers, Waz

Hey Waz, Maroons always mate I'm not a blue person hahaha. Going back up to airlie beach in a few months so looking forward to that.

Those instructions sound easy enough to follow I'll give it a go tonight. Should be very straight forward and if not well I can strip it all back anyway.

    Cheers,

    Alkay.

Simple guitar where there should be 2 wires coming out of the PUP and if you follow the LP Jnr diagram it should work. Don't forget to double check the bridge earth connections as that can sometimes be overlooked.

    Go Queensland!!!

Cheers for that I forgot to ask about checking the bridge grounding. I'll let you know how I go after I've finished.

    Cheers,

Sounds like your all setup for a good night, hopefully it's televised here in VIC.

Dreary Channel 9 only up here where we have to put up with plenty of D@#$ H^&* commentators. Prefer Fox any day but not sure they have the rights to these games. It might be on Go or GEM in other parts of the country.

Cool we'll see what they do down here. I PM'd you.

Just looking at the pot I think it looks like it was a tone knob so I'll try that method first but use a A because there's more play on it.

    Cheers,

    Alkay.

    Hey Waz,

I followed your advice and checked the bridge ground wire. It did have one but wasn't connected well( it was actually twist tied on not even soldered) so I trimmed and tinned it and soldered it to the pot. It works!!! Quite happy with that.

I'd like some advice on the below pics. You can see there are scratches all over the body. Someone thought it was a good idea to graffiti it with a sharp instrument in it's past life haha. So yeah I'm open to suggestions on what to do? Sand it all off and start again or try to repair?

Depends on how much work you want to do.
It may be enough to get it making sound and then setup the action, whole lot more work refinishing too. All depends on how much time & effort you are willing to put in and whether cosmetics are ok enough if it sounds and plays ok?
