Not a guitar but the stock on this was made from a pallet, the rifle was a scratch build with the breech & firing mechanism being a commercial product.

( the builder made the early metal storm prototypes for the designer )

haha cheers KB, I saw this on FB, I like the effect of the different pine end grain making a cool pattern.

at 4D we never say never so who knows, might give a similar axe a crack !

You would want to carefully clamp it when you glued it together!

You'd drive yourself mental trying to line all that up and glue it. I wonder if it ever came to fruition as a working axe?

Hey Frankie I emailed the pic to my 4D buddy Popeye and he replied 'we are building THAT' so looks like its a project to start FDF - Four Dee Friday hahaha

I'll get dressed pine lengths from the green shed (maybe a new selfy) and chop to about 42mm lengths on the drop saw, glue together and a heap of sanding to get it flat !!

what shape shall we do ? LP, ST, SG, Tele ?

I quite like the look of the tele !

should be able to line up the pieces with 4 long straight pieces clamped on the edges holding it together

I vote Strat, or something that doesn't have a straight edge to it. You would get more variation to the look of the grain, especially when putting in the belly rest and arm rest shaping.

I vote SG or IB-1, the IB profiled sides or the SG chamfer would wicked with all the grain patterns.

Edit: You and Popeye are an inspiration. I can see my Better Half ripping out the "If Wokka and Popeye jumped off a cliff would you jump too?!?!" in the near future!

cheers for the suggestions Frankie and Zandit.

I agree some sort of profiling or chamfering will make the grain look cool.

we'll wait till we have the body blank sanded flat and make a decision then.

Damn you KB you and your ideas, as if we haven't got enough projects on the table haha

haha good point Frankie, Popeye and I have been mates for over 25 years so the missus often jokes he is my other half haha

The stock of the gun I posted earlier was made from a play pallet bearer which is why what appears to be grain is so prominent.

So my vote would be for some kind of offset guitar
