    I saw this vid from NAMM that made me think of your build ...
    it's a guy playing a very small bass guitar ... might give you some ideas ...

    I've played around with one quite a bit (borrowed it from a friend). They are great fun and remarkably easy to play - as long as you get the fretted one. Doesn't really meet my personal criteria in size, but a brilliant instrument nonetheless.
