    Hi from Scotland.

Hi everyone. Harry here. Just joined so be gentle with me. Have just taken delivery of my RC1. It looks complete so can't wait to get started. My last build was a Tele. Looks and plays great but I rushed it and the paint is going to have to come back off. Will be more careful this time. Will be watching other builds to see if I can steal some ideas. Does anyone know where I can get a blank, white Rick style truss rod cover?
    Cheers.

Welcome Harry! Nice choice of kit, it's on my wish list (most things are). Probably easier to make your own truss rod cover from some white acrylic sheet or an old white pick guard. Do a google search for a pattern.

Hi Harry and welcome. I could only find ones with the Rickenbacker logo on eBay (at £120) and if you can't find one there, they probably don't exist. Rickenbacker are very litigious and have trademarked a lot of their items, so it's likely that no one makes one for that reason. E.g. they won't sell their own truss rod covers to people unless you turn in an old one. So it looks like you are going to have to shape one yourself from a pickguard blank.

That seems to be all I can do. I know Rickenbacker are very protective. Quite rightly. I'm juggling with names for it now. Has to have about 10 + letters. Australia looks a good place to look, they got some very interesting place names over there. Done a template.
This is going to be addictive. I spent a small fortune on wood dyes and sandpaper this afternoon. Probably be cheaper buying a Ricky.
Starting Friday. Sand, sand sand et al. Cheers all.

We do have some interesting names - Burekup, Iron Knob, Innaloo just to name a couple that come to mind. That said a couple of names out your way (relative from Australia) are pretty fantastic as well - Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch (understand that its in Wales, but Northern Hemisphere is Northern Hemisphere right? )

    Welcome..... Harry,
Strangely I read your post in a Scottish Accent... albeit a poor one..

I look forward to seeing your builds as they progress....
