    Feast Watson glass finish

Has anyone ever used a feast Watson product called glass finish . One coat is equivalent to 60 clear coats and is normally used on kitchen bench tops. I've seen a sample at bunnings and wondered how it would go ? Thanks in advance

Tried it today on the SH-1 Headless. Turned out quite well. Just hope it cures properly.

Found it not too difficult to apply, however its sticky as hell to clean up.

Tips: make sure surface is totally clean ie use metho or tack cloth. Make sure guitar is level and the surface you are applying to is facing up. Dont leave it too long to degas and watch out for drips and runs on the underside.

Am currently in the learn from my mistakes stage of the build 1st build , a bit of bad product advice from a bunnings girl (cabothane clear) evil terrible stuff, wiped that straight off and went the feast watson glass.

    Silly mistakes So far.
    Do the rear 1st!!
More masking off because the glass will drip and run for about 5 hrs.
Try not to get any on fretboard or you will be hating life sanding and razor blading the super hard resin off the fretboard... sheesh

Do the sides of gtar at a separate time because too many drips.

Unlike acrylic clear topcoat, youcant just wet n dry and buff. You will have to recoat for the sexy mirror finish. (Was only able to achieve this in some places, then mozzies and insects will kamakazee into your lovely freshly poured resin!

Am now in the process of neck alignment and all that fun stuff!
P.s colour is just food colouring from coles
hmu for any info or questions on method.s!

    cheers!!

As for the product Feast Watson Glass, I actually love it, maybe not for the neck, body only (personal preference) but for a nice thick finish ( = 60 coats of acrylic top coat clear!!)

DO NOT wet dry ON CURE (touchdry 24 hrs, full cure Approx 7 DAYS, ONLY BUFF)

Biggest tip, use a tack cloth before application, removes all contaminants and dust etc. Really rub the cloth into the wood , it will feel weird and waxy and odd but it does an amazing job of preparing for the pour. Also roll the cloth back into a scrunched up ball and put it back in the wrapping for later use. (so it doesn't dry out)

Heres some photos of mistakes so far

Amazing how wet finish attracts all manner of airborne things from dust particles to insects.

How does it buff up? Looks like it might take a bit of work?

I'm going to give this stuff from Barnes a go on my next project, it is called Epoxyglass and has some UV stability so think it shouldn't yellow too much with age. I'll report back how it goes but it looks promising.
