    Talking LP-1MQ Build

Here I go, fingers crossed. Sanded and ready for the first stain coat. The plan was to use Coolangatta Gold on top and Outback Sunset for back and neck. I had a mishap with the Outback Red getting onto the maple top in the middle around the pickups. Problem solved by mixing the two colours together and created an "inside out" sunburst colour which fades to pure gold at the edges of the top. Pretty happy with the result so far. More to do

Thanks guys, it was not what I had planned but is looking better as it dries. Will put the enhancer coats on later this week, it should look great. I will post some pics

Just a thought, but if you end up less happy with the reverse burst, then you could simply use the red all over the top - as it does bring out a lot more detail in the quilt (at least in the photo) - and then use a darker finish round the edge (or even just more red) to create a normal sunburst.

Yeah, good point. I had considered making the entire top red however my initial idea was for a blond/gold quilt. I added some more red to adjust some areas and that worked fine. I now have applied a number of intensifier coats and am pretty happy with how it looks given that it has yet to dry.

that's looking very tasty Cubcall. Remember give the intensifying coats at least 3 days to cure between coats and apply thin coats.

Thanks for the feedback. I just finished the Intensifier coats on the back and that looks fine IMHO. next week, I will glue the neck on and apply the final gloss coat.
