Hi All,
I've been an on and off guitar player for the last 20 years. I usually get pretty serious for 3 - 6 months learn a different style and proceed to forget it all.
I've been stalking PitBull guitars and this forum for the last month drooling over some of the guitars you guys have made. I'm currently learning some blues guitar and decided I wanted a tele but my mrs won't let me spend the money I'd like to given we just had our first baby. I haven't owned an electric guitar for about 8 years, I usually play my 40 year old Japanese made classical and my 15 year old acoustic (premium Cort model) but I need to bend some strings.
I took advantage of the sale on upgrades for the TLA-1Q and went a bit crazy. I've got the 22 fret maple, a bone nut and grover machine heads. I've also picked up the electronics and pickups (noiseless) from a 2013 Fender Tele for $100 on GumTree so I'm aiming for tone all the way. Hopefully I'll end up with something similar to my forum pic, the quilted maple in Coolangatta gold, black pickguard and a colourless finish on the neck.
I'll be building it at my old mans house as I have no room where I live and the build will be pretty slow (don't have a lot of time at the moment) so drying times between coats is probably going to be a week. I'll be starting my build diary this weekend.
Cheers,
Stu
