I'd be creative on the body fixtures. Concentrate on what 1) you actually need to support your picking/strumming arm and 2) what you need to support the guitar on your lap when sitting down. It doesn't have to look like a guitar outline. You only need a small portion of both the top and bottom curves to achieve this, so on top you could have a T-shaped attachment with the top of the T curved downwards, and an inverted T on the bottom also with the top of the T curved downwards to rest on your leg.

There are a number of other Silent Guitars out there on the market, most of them come under the banner of Travel guitars.
    Here are some other designs...

This one would be workable using insulated copper pipe.

And in my google travels, I find someone is already offering a Silent Guitar Kit

Simon, have you ever come across these guys in Europe?

You could always cut the body shape out of a thick piece Ply of decent quality. Once it was sanded etc it would be fine for paint or stain

No I haven't, I've only ever used Pit Bull for kits. I'd imagine a lot of their products were made in the same factory as the PBG kits. I was getting a lot of 404 errors when trying to navigate their site from the main page.

And looking at their Facebook page, they've gone out of business. So you'll have to look elsewhere for a kit.

I thought that might be the case. I was getting the same errors.
Regardless of finding the kit, I want to do this one myself from scratch.
    We'll see where this leads!

Yeah, there's plenty of options, but finding a matching EQ controller that is not curved around the edges to match an Acoustic Guitar profile is not easy. The search continues!!

Hey Zandit, the Fishman Piezo pre-amp I used on my solid body has a flat face. It is not the cheapest of the Piezos but it sounds good to me. You can check out the quick and dirty sound demo I did here:

Here is the link to the Fishman on Fleabay. It has all the dimensions, so that might help you to see if its suitable.

    Good luck mate.
