    Greetings from British Columbia

    Hello fellow builders,

Although I've technically been building guitar kits for 12 years, 11 of those were spent between building my first strat kit from Saga and actually getting it to work. I've got back into the hobby last year and built two guitars with two more kits on the bench awaiting completion.

    Completed guitars are:
'Les Paul Standard' style kit from DIY Guitar Kits - orange sunburst flame maple top, mismatched chrome/zebra pickups
Partscaster Tele - Spalted maple top poplar body from Guitarfetish, walnut neck with maple fretboard from Warmoth

    Projects in progress are:
'Les Paul Custom' style kit from Guitar Kit World, replica of the James Hetfield 'Uncle Milty' Iron Cross
Canadian Red Ensign Stratocaster - strat body from Guitarfetish with red ensign paint job and Union Jack pickguard

I've just ordered a customized Pitbull FV-1G kit to complete once I've finished the rest of my queue. I'm looking forward to trying to win a GOTM contest with it.

Welcome CGG, what customisation do you have planned with the FV-1G?

Thanks everyone. The FV-1G will be mahogany with a spalted maple top. I'm thinking of some EMG-JH pickups with brushed/satin chrome hardware. I haven't settled on exactly what to do for a finish but I'm thinking a contrasting grain filler on the mahogany and satin poly clear coat. I'll definitely do a diary for it.

For those curious here are a few pics of the LP kit.

My tele isn't with me at the moment so I'll make due with a pic from before it was fully completed, but you get the idea.

love the LP and tele builds CCG, nice work. Love the spalted cap on the tele. Is that bottom switch a coil split for one or both humbuckers ? I'm a bit puzzled why the volume and control knobs are off centre. Sounds like it has been tele napped. Be warned the guy from Pitbull headquarters Adam is a big tele napper. Lucky you live in Canada haha

The LP looks great too !

The last 'switch' is actually the tone control, just missing the knob when I took the photo. I didn't do any coil tapping on this one. The knob alignment isn't as bad as it looks in the photo. I think that the angle is a bit weird with the top of the knobs projecting out. If you look at the bottom of the knobs it lines up a little better.
