Okay, so I don't think this is even in the same ballpark as the previous entries with their beautifully crafted finishes - it doesn't even have any clear coats on it, and up close there are a lot of flaws.
That said, it was built for the stage (and as such, looks great from a distance), it sounds great and I'm really proud with what I accomplished in a week. One day I will strip off the hardware and clear coat it so it lasts but for now I'm getting too much enjoyment out of playing my first custom built guitar!
So without further ado, I present the Spliceman Mk. 1 (half 'splorer, half Iceman - the first of many). It's a butchered EX-1 kit, with a custom vinyl decal over Duplicolor Empress Red spraypaint. Just about everything is stock - the hardware is chrome, shabbily sprayed with a translucent grey the only upgrade was to put in some Artist Bullbuckers (chinese JB/Jazz neck clones).
Here's some "glamour shots". Don't mind the scraggly lawn and unfinished pergola - just the work I should have been doing instead of building a guitar.

If only I was that brave. Love the concept. Is it to be used for a particular song or set? I'm sure it will hit the spot.
Guitars:
Build #4 - Scratch SG - Qld Mahogany - In Progress
PBG#3- - ES-1F - kit electronics (Dec 2020)- upgrade if I can do it justice
PBG#2- - STA-1 Ash w black upgrades GOTM June 2020
PBG#1- LP-1MQ http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au...ead.php?t=6378
Acoustics -Washburn WD18SW
- Maton Australian EA80C
Electric - Magnum pseudo Stratocaster - upgraded with PitBull bits - 2020
Any plans to put some clear coats on it now? It's good enough to be worth finishing properly.
