    TL-1H.....Tele Deluxe

    Hi All

    Third build being started now!
the first was a skateboard guitar
    the second was a strat

but now it is time to get serious !

The whole thing looks great in the initial mockup apart from the pick guard (I'll send Adam an email shortly)

I love the tele body shape but not how it sits against my side - so had to do a bit of a cut away on the back.
I'm chuffed with how it worked out.

not sure about the headstock at present but I'm sure it will turn out nicely after smoothing etc.....

more to follow soon (and I'm sure a lot of silly questions)!

Hard to say exactly from the pic if that hole is a bit too close to the edge on the guard as you've still got the protective film on. I'd take it off to see the hole in full detail. The PBG site kit picture of it has the hole pretty near the edge of the guard as well. What does it look like with a screw sitting in it? Or is it cracked?

What headstock shape are you planning on using? '70s large headstock F style, a standard Tele shape or something of your own design?

    Your cutaway looks really good!

Yeah, they look like they came out of a Dr Zeus book with the exaggerated oversized shape. Lots of grain action there to show off.

    Nice headstock shaping.

5 coats is overdoing a bit it as you really want to achieve the thinnest finish you can get away with, but you've got enough depth to wet sand it to a nice flat finish before doing the clear coats I'd leave it at least a couple of days before sanding to allow the finish to harden.
