Hi all,
Finally made some progress on the weekend, lightly rubbed back those parts I wasn't happy with.... I think it was due to going to hard on the intensifying coats. Shaped the head stock... almost time for the final DB finishing coat.
Questions about the dreaded set neck... this is my plan.... finish the coats, let them dry and then clamp the neck in place where I have already marked off where I think it should be set (no glue yet!). Fit the bridge and tailpiece properly and then run the E strings to the bridge to check everything.
I know that there are other guidelines on this... however I am at work and can't be on here long! Any feedback to this approach?
Eg - what to look for... any other expert tips. I have a feeling the nut is too high but I shall see.... I may use heavy gauge strings so it may not be an issue.
Cheers,
Paul.
