Hey all, if I have gone thick, any tips to be aware of when I give it a light rub with some high grit (DB in the vid says he uses 0000 steel wool which I also have... eg what the finish will do if it isn't dry still?) Cheers.

If it isn't fully dry, the top layer might be hard but underneath that might be still partially liquid or at least soft. It will smear and look awful.

Good idea. Wouldn't recommend using steel wool as if things are still soft that stuff tends to roll things up into sticky balls of crud and therefore ruin the surface. Only very light fine grade wet sanding seems to be ok and grit needs to be at least 1500 or 2000.

Using DT requires lots of patience....... gives you time to start on the electronics or maybe another kit?

Yeah... I am in no rush at all. I have some other guitars that need some work... always something around to tinker with!

Hey all... I haven't progressed any further since applying the intensifying coats.... need to shape the head stock first.

Not sure I am happy with some of the textures at this point on the neck and head stock... as mentioned above should I rub any areas back very lightly and then apply 1 more coat (lightly this time)?

    Cheers all.
