Hmmm, could be glue or filler and probably too late to do anything with them now unless you want to sand back all the finish in that spot, use some goof off and maybe a wire brush, then re-stain.

Looks like you may need to wipe the stain off the binding before it wants to stick around permanently. If it won't come off super fine wet & dry usually does the trick.

Hey Slayer that flame top is popping nicely. With the glue mark worth trying to remove it before you go any further. Get a small wire brush bit bigger than a toothbrush and scrub the affected area. Also others have had success with Goof Off or other glue remover products. You will need to re-sand the affected area, re-stain, You still have to clean up the binding so best have a good look for other glue spots where the stain hasn't taken.
Best of luck. Got Hardwired cranking as I type this ! I love it !

Thanks for the advice fellas... love this forum. Seems to be a 'no dickhead rule' haha unlike some others I have been on.

Will decide what to do with it... it's all learning anyways.

Yeah Hardwired has grown on me for sure... been listening to and from work... some awesome tracks \m/ (Halo on Fire... Now We're Dead... killer!)

Will defo go and see them when they come to Australia rumored for this year... hopefully Perth is included....

Hey guys and gals, was hoping to apply the finishing coats this weekend just gone but the intensifying coats seem a little sticky still... I think I went a little heavy with it... the vid I watched DB says it can take a while to dry...?

Hey Slayer when did you apply the intensifying coats on Saturday ? DB recommends you allow about 3-4 days between coats and try and apply thin coats and don't overwork the rag. I'd leave it a couple more days and see how it looks

If you go too thick it can take a couple of weeks to be ready for the next coat. Don't be impatient (we understand that that can be difficult) or you can ruin the end result.

Thick Intensifier Coats = trouble if you try to sand or apply subsequent coats too soon. You may need to let this one hang around for more than a week to be sure it is ok to continue working with.

Thanks all, I applied all of my coats in 1 hit - about 3-4.....

I think the body is okay but I went overboard with the neck and head stock. This coming weekend will be 2 weeks since the applications... I will have a feel then.
