DT wax Waz, I was in 3 or 4 minds and ordered it yesterday so should be here this week but the neck finish has only had a bit over a week curing so far so I will be leaving it for a bit and getting back onto the black part of the body

Cheers mate. Hope the wax works out ok as I have always coated maple boards with something.

The DT wax turned up the other week and I'm now waiting on the micro mesh pads which are apparently going to be delivered tomorrow.

In the waiting time the sides and back of the body have been sanded back, tithe top and binding masked off and the back and sides given a couple of coats of acrylic primer in prep for the black to come.

The DT Black Stump was a failure but that was down to operator error rather than product problems, some bits were very good and others not so.

Onwards and upwards, hopefully the body will now surrender and stop fighting

Almost sounds like a Monty Python sketch. Reminds me of the Holy Grail where the Knight has lost his arms but will still not surrender as he reckoned it was just a flesh wound......

I think the body has finally surrendered, a couple of coats and two coats of acrylic black and it's starting to look the goods.

One more coat tomorrow and then maybe I'll have a shot at the burst on the top around this time next week.

Experimentation will decide if I'm up for it because to top looks good without it but not the look I wanted from the start

Starting to get there but not without further drama, picked up the rattle can of clear, shook the sh1t out of it and fired off a blast into the air to make sure there was a fine spray.

Edited to add the binding is masked

Hit the back of the Dog with it and bugger me, it was a can of bright yellow with a clear cap, note to self, check the label every time.

Grabbed the black and coated over the yellow strip straight away and all is good, phew.
