no worries sounds good Cade, everyone is always keen to see other forum member's build diaries so look forward to seeing the kit. First thing I would do is a mock build and put both E strings on to check the neck alignment.

Check the alignment and neck angle (sit the bridge on a couple of washers to check the action)... and try to determine the type of glue used.

Hi Cade, Colour looks good on the headstock and yes, DT does seem to attract dust, hair and all manner of small airborne particles. Just means you need to have a completely clean work environment with no breeze or devices that could circulate air whilst laying down the finish and for up to a few afters after to allow things to start curing.

SG sounds like a bargain and hope it is in good shape to work with.

Yep I probabaly shouldn't hang it in the garage Waz Kelly.... motorbike and car entering daily plus doggo's... I guess lightly sand it back to get some crap off?

Current levels of humidity up here at the moment doesn't help either.

Light wet sand with 1500 or finer is all it would need but be careful as any sanding can strip out lots of colour.

If you are using DT, you can hang inside as its non-toxic and smells good. Less contaminants, but you can just lightly wet sand them off. The humidity is really bad at the moment so leave at least a week for curing.

Thanks Andy, I've relocated it further into a downstairs room away from the high traffic areas of the house so that there is less things floating around in the air. I'm giving it at least 7 days between coats as I'm finding this super humid fortnight keeps things tacky as you said. Gave it a light steel wool and a magnet sweep yesterday which seemed to help the fuzz, then a first application of finish coat. Looking okay at the moment, it's been slightly less warm and muggy in my area the last 24hrs

Good to hear you are doing a magnet sweep after using steel wool.

Only time I use the stuff is on frets and fret boards as it tends to have lots of cutting power which is dangerous used anywhere near green DT coats, particularly the intensifiers for some strange reason, probably because there could be up to 6 - 10 layers of finish at this stage depending on how many base stains and intensifiers were applied.
