First coat of DT gold. I'm pretty impressed with how it went on. Obviously a long way to go. I am waiting for the other stains which should arrive in the new year if Auspost feel like it.

The grain's coming out very nicely there.
Now that I have shaped the neck, what grit do I go to in order to apply Dingotone?
Tomorrow, I should have all of the Dingotone I need to get cracking with the body and neck.
Chris
looking superb so far!

P320 seems to be the smallest grit recommended for Dingotone.
Looking great, I love that grain in your fret board!
There should have been some instructions with your Dingotone saying the best recommendation for sanding prior to staining.
Acoustics:
1995 Maton EM725C - Solid 'A' Spruce Top, QLD Walnut B&S, AP5 Pickup
2015 Ibanez AEL108MD-NT - Laminated Spruce top, Laminated Mahogany B&S, Fishman Sonicore Pickup
Electrics:

It's better to keep it slightly rough before staining to help the wood absorb the stain, and then sand finer afterwards.
Firstly, thanks for the encouragement.
320grit seems fine enough on the neck, so I think I'll stick to that, unless I find a sheet of 400grit somewhere in the garage?
I will be receiving the DT tomorrow and I found the instructions on applying the Dingotone on the Dingotone page in the shop.
I have chosen to go with the mission beach to make it kinda old school.
Zandit, I love the fretboard too! It looks yellowish with that grain if that makes sense?
I rounded the top of the head and it looks pretty much like a real one now. I'm pretty happy with the way it looks.
Tomorrow is the big day if the post person delivers early enough.

Wouldn't recommend any finer than 240 on maple necks and no finer than 320 on bodies. Never used Alder before but best to get it smooth as on 240 and maybe start staining as you can make it much smoother in the final polishing stages.
