Truss rod and new fret board

    Hi,

Just wondering when gluing a new fret board to a neck what condition should the truss rod be in ? i.e. fully loosened off or under tension ?

Also, when gluing an Ebony fret board is Titebond still the correct glue to use.

    Thanks

    Jay.

    Hi jay,

You should be fine with either Hide glue or Titebond. I've always tried to keep the rod at a neutral position. I dont know what the pro position is on that.

Thanks Franken...I just wasn't sure how porous Ebony is.
