Greetings from Cleveland, Ohio! Here is my entry for GOTM, our ES-1TL Foo Fighter Tribute, we call "Babe - The Big Blue Axe". I built this for, and with the help of my 9 year old son, Ian for his 9th birthday (October 5th). He did a majority of the sanding, some of the paint, and most of the polishing after I wet sanded it. It is painted with custom mixed Pelham Blue paint using the original Gibson formula, with 10 layers of automotive clear, to try to mimic Dave Grohl's DG-335.
The kit used all of the stock parts with the exception of the hardtail, which is from a Duesenberg Guitar, I had to order the part from Germany, as they are the only ones that use a 74 mm tail, that would fit into the original holes that were pre-drilled in the kit. We also had a custom Foo Fighters truss rod cover made, and a vinyl logo decal for the back. It sounds incredible, nice and warm, and loud! Thank you to all who followed along in my build diary and helped answer my questions.

He actually does pretty well. He already has an SG, a Les Paul and a Strat. He said the neck is a bit wider than the others that he has, but he is getting used to it. He said it is actually quite comfortable to play when he is sitting.

awesome Dave Grohl tribute axe Mr Mayhem love it. I've seen Foo Fighters live about 3 times and they have been some of the best concerts I've been to.
You did a good job to fill the F holes and cut new diamond shape holes. Are the neck fret markers stickers ?

Bet your son must love the axe. Sure he will grow into it and be playing some Foos chords soon !

The diamond holes are standard on the kit, as are the fret board diamonds.
