never underestimate what you can do with some particle board and files, paint and found objects.

To make a pick up I'd do layers of particle board or ply, paint the top gloss, the sides flat then slice up a bolt and insert the peices as your poles.

You could bend up a tele bridge out of flat plate and use bar stock to make the bridges, especially if you went traditional style

In fact using my idea and Dedman's you could really do the lot. Pabs could do the pickguard, control plate would be easy, wouldn't be hard to find knobs and something for the switch at BigGreenShed, all screws etc., with the bass tuners, you are covered

cheers for the ideas Stan and Dedman, I love this forum everyone is so helpful.
I'm off to the green shed to get the pine for the body and will glue that up, the blank is going to be about 800 x 640mm it is going to be huuuuge hahaha
Think I will use bass tuners just got to find the right shape and will look for the biggest bass fret wire I can find.

so challenge accepted here's the progress of the oversized tele, you need an assistant cutting this monster on the bandsaw. The neck on the body is a standard size tele neck
