Thread: Swedish RCA-4

    Swedish RCA-4

Well hello! Claes from Sweden here!

Ordered the kit last weekend and picked it up today - that's really impressing!

The kit itself is also impressing, really happy with the quality!

However, when ripping the box up (eager as a child at christmas!) and aiming for what I guess most of you/us do first, ie trying to fit the neck to the body, I stumbled on the first obstacle. They simply don't fit. The neck is about 2mm to wide to fit in the body.

Please help - do I go about sanding the body or the neck joint...? Or both...?

Welcome Longfork. It may be as simple as sanding both sides of the neck tenon until it fits, but I'll leave it to the more experienced builders to confirm.

    GTH-1

    Completed:
    AST-1FB
First Act ME276 (resurrected curb-side find)

    TL-1TB
    Scratch Lapsteel
    Meinl DIY Cajon
    Cigar Box lap steel

    Ok, guess I'll try that.

I also noticed that the neck is somewhat twisted, or at least it isn't totally straight. The fretboard dives ever so slightly where it's supposed to join the body.

Is this common and something I'll have to live with, or cause for sending it back?

Not easy to see, but it's there.
