it's a custom order with flame mapel top veneer (it's very thin top) and also i'm order a rosewood neck with trapezoid inlays ..

so far it's not shine so much, so i'm put more layers..

i have a little question...
seems like i'm doing something wrong .. i'm in the middle of a 7th coat and i'm not see any hard glass.. it's shine but not glass..






how many layers i need to put on it ?

What are you using to finish it? It probably needs a light sanding between coats try 1000 Wet & Dry paper

i'm using a regular steel wool.. and i'm think to start use with 1000 grit wet paper.. i will hope to see some change befor i done the bottle of the tru-oil..

That's looking sweet as! Good luck with the finish, being patient is hard but I'm sure you'll get it as shiny as you want eventually.

i think i was watching some guy on youtube they were saying the same a dedman sand with wet and dry between coats don't think steel wool will work on tru-oil if your going for a super shinny steel wool works great with traditional wood stains and varnish
