I dare say there's be some second hand or reasonable quality spares floating around the forum that would set you back far less.

If you are going to ding fill then you may be better off stripping all the way back to see what you are working with. You might get a nice surprise like the re-finished Ply Strat [URL="http://www.buildyourownguitar.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=6189&highlight=Plywood+strat"], or it could be a dog, you just never know.
You might be onto something there Washie, I didn't really look at the timber inside. That might look alright too.
I'll see what I can come up with in regards to signal. Does anyone have a superstrat wiring diagram available?
Also, can anyone tell me what the little 2-way switch would be for? Would that be a phase switch possibly?

Would that different style Trem work that I linked to?
The trem on the Carson appears to be more of a strat trem clone with a six screw mount at the front. The FLoyd Rose style pivots on two knife edge pivots against a pair of posts drilled into the body. It would be another mod, you'd need to fill the existing six mounting holes, measure up the cavity to see if it will fit the FLoyd Trem, them determine where you need to drill the two anchor posts. Can be done, but you have to be very precise in your placement of the anchor posts. Plus side is, if you blow it, you're not working on an expensive Fender, Gibson or similar and its good experience.

Hmmm, that sounds more involved than I thought.
Might just go for a direct replacement like this one. Cheap as chips!

Yeah that could work, just need to measure up your mounting holes as they exist and with the indicated dimensions from the seller.

They should be pretty close by the look. Its mainly the centres between the mounting holes you need to worry about.

No probs Zandit. For 12 bucks, its almost worth it just to get it in and see how close everything lines up and check your clearances on the tone block. The worst outcome is you may have to fill and re-drill mounting holes to suit the new one.

Yeah, I've just ordered it. The measurements are pretty close, so it may just slot straight in.
Do you happen to know what the 2-way switch would be for?

Hard to tell what the 2 way was used for. Looks as though its wired to earth on both pots and connected to the selector? hard to tell from the photo really, potentially a Kill switch?

Its probably part of the reason it was 2 bucks at the tip shop, someone was playing and couldn't get it all to work how they thought it should go so they dumped it. Wouldn't be the first time.

Looks like the mini-toggle may be a coil split for the bridge pup, assuming that grey multi-core is from the bridge pickup.

Yes, Grey multi core is from the Humbucker at the bridge. Red wire goes to the middle point on the 2-way switch, while there is an orange wire that goes from the switch to the back of the pot on the left. Photobucket is not cooperating, so I can't post a picture for you.
