Have you previously mentioned the free TDR Nova EQ from the same company, Kimball? http://www.tokyodawn.net/tdr-nova/? If not, it really is worth getting (or better still paying for the GE version with more EQ bands and steeper HP and LP filters).

Its a dynamic EQ, and the way this plug-in is configured it means that you can use the plug-in as a simple wide-band compressor (it can use an external sidechain if required), a simple EQ plug-in, or use the dynamic EQ so that EQ only happens when the selected frequency exceeds the given threshold. So for instance, you can use it as a de-esser on louder vocals, drop a bit of bottom end out of a kick drum when it gets louder so that it doesn't completely take over a mix, or use it to boost a quiet sound.

I use it (the GE version) a lot for its steep HP and LP filters, very useful for removing unwanted sounds from miked-up recordings and clearing up the mix as a result. The GE version seems to have gone up a lot % wise since I bought it, but even so, is well worth the cost.
