I would like to introduce you all to my Non PBG Ash J Bass.

All stock parts except for 3 x 250k Bourns audio taper pots, Sprague 0.047 Orange Drop Capacitor, Switchcraft output socket. Finished in a blend of 4 parts ColorTone Cherry Red to 1 part Blackstone Uluru Red Fountain Pen Ink, stained twice, then finished off with 20 odd coats of Tru Oil on the body and around 12 or so coats on the neck.

Here's my version of a 3 string. It has a Tassie oak neck with Jarrah pieces, Western red cedar pieced soundboard and sides. A bit of ply for the back and wired with a piezo under the bridge. All the timber was recycled out of the garage. Everything was made from scratch except the tuners and strings. Click image for larger version.

Is this open to re-builds also? My Carsen re-build will be unrecognizable once it's finished!

Hi mate, Adam's intro unfortunately mentions Any Guitar or Bass built from scratch or from a kit you purchased from another company is eligible, as long as you built it.
I would still vote for it.

That's fair enough. It was worth a try! I reckon I've put more elbow grease into this rebuild than my LP but the rules are still the rules!
