looks great Doc, so are you mixing gold tuners with chrome bridge ?

Nah, I'm going to order some Chrome tuners from Real Tone Music next fortnight, going with all Chrome hardware, I need to order a short metal bar that sits behind the locking nut on the headstock anyway, the bar pulls the strings down so that they don't go sharp when you do up the locks on the Locking Nut, I'm also going to buy another set of Ernie Ball Strap Locks once the guitar is up and running.


So, if I'm going with a solid Metallic Blue finish on the body, I'm guessing I'll need to get some Maple Timbermate, some Primer, and a couple of spray cans of Metallic Blue from the big green shed, oh and maybe a couple of cans of acrylic lacquer too.

Hey Doc, sounds like a classic 80's Big Hair type axe you are about to put together.

Can't believe Woks favourite colour is metallic blue as that sounds like a classic Ford shade rather than his beloved Holdens haha.

Maybe Super Cheap may have a better selection of spray cans than the BGSFOS.

Haha...yeah it has been a while, I wanted to make sure I got the money I owed Adam for the body paid off first before I started doing anything with it, I was going to do the payment via my Paypal account but had some problems with it so I ended up doing a direct bank transfer instead, trouble is it takes at least three business days for the money to go through, had some other things I needed to deal with too, like a Rental Rebate form I had to fill in an take to Territory Housing in Casuarina on Wednesday, had to be done otherwise I'd end up paying something like $290.00/Fortnight in rent rather than $180.00, my last Power/Water bill was only about $15.00, oh and also had to pay my monthly Internet bill too, anyway, all my bills are out of the way so I'll be getting together all the stuff I need to finish the body off, I'm going for a solid Metallic Blue finish so I'm guessing that I'll need some grain filler, wood primer, the spray paint, and the clear coat, I definitely want to give a solid colour finish a go this time round, I can do another Dingotone Finish on the 51 Tele kit I'll order later on this year, doing the Gold Standard Strat gave me some confidence in my abilities.

Could even do a Tube Screamer build as well, and maybe another Tube-based pedal.

On other things, I've got a couple of ideas for two more pedal builds for the DIY Pedals threads which I'll hopefully be adding soon, might do a Jumbo Tonebender as used by Jeff Beck, and maybe a Mozrite Fuzzrite, I'll also look into the possibility of doing a delay pedal and maybe a chorus too.

cheers for the update Doc, my builds going slowly so many side projects but have assembled the gold tele and have to finish the wiring so I'll get some pics up soon. Got a Pablo gold mirror pickguard and control plate looks pretty cool !
