In addition to my extensive carpentry and guitar building issues I now have a Nerf Modding problem as well.
It’s amazing to me exactly how many modding shops and companies there are and how far you can take a standard blaster in terms of Powering it up. Apparently right up to the point where the shell disintegrates because the springs and air volume you pump through it are just too much for its basic structure.

Hand crafting guitars, because Death Rays are expensive.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one with too many hobbies.
My shooters are a bit more heavy metal. I shoot a match called Cowboy Action or Western Action were all our firearms are pre 1900 design, a single match usually uses 2 six guns, a lever action rifle and a double barrel shot gun, but can also include a large calibre single shot buffalo rifle like the Sharps and/or a 2 shot derringer.
and yes we mod them to go faster

We have a metric S@#t tonne of Nerf guns in our house. Modding has always been something I've been interested to do... so much else going on already though. I feel ya Dedman.

Geez Louise.
Dress ups and shooting?
Never got it myself. But most don't get the allure of strapping one self to a smallbore target rifle and lying terribly still for an hour or so.
(all so the judges can divide the 10.4mm bullseye into tenths and make you lose on a countback )

I admit that I am an agent of Satan, however, my duties are largely ceremonial.

LOL Rabbitz I used to shoot ISSF Centre fire until I damaged my right arm and got too wobbly for that one handed precision stuff. We do like to make "Hup! Hup! Hup!" sounds when we walk by the IPSC shooters ;D Have shot the 45/70 at 500m and 800m. At those distances you are shooting rainbows with a 2 meter or more holdover. The native americans called them "shoot today kill tomorrow " rifles because it took so long for the projectile to get there.

Spent the weekend in Melbourne competing at the National Band Championships in several sections, including Full Brass Band, Quintet and Quartet, and a Solo as well.
In the full Brass Band section we came fourth, only missing out by 3 points on Third place. Our bandmaster was extremely pleased with us, as last year was a very disappointing result against a smaller field(13 bands in the C grade section).
Unfortunately our quintet & quartets didn't go so well, coming last and second last respectively, but we knew were not as prepared as we should have been for the high class of these sections where we were competing against A&B grade groups.
Lastly, I performed in the Open Bass Trombone Solo section, and came a very happy 6th, only 7pts off the winner. Very close section, and I was extremely nervous competing against such quality players. My mouth went extremely dry as soon as the little bell sounded to say I was right to begin. Missed a lot of my lower notes in the quiet slow section of my piece, but gather quite well for the last half of the performance.
Not bad for only being back into playing the trombone for 2yrs after a 15yr break, and only having this new trombone since September. I don't think I am as technically proficient as I was when previously playing, but my sound production and understanding of the music style etc is much more than I ever had before.
Here is a photo of me running through my solo with the official accompanist a couple of days before the competition.
