TC if I could vote, you'd get it. Just love that Tele man!
Sweet example TC, I love a Tele with a natural finish and they don't get much better than this one. Great job man:-)
IF I can EVER get the money together I've decided to skip the Rick I wanted and get a Tele kit cause of something I wanna do. A solid capped, fully hollow body Tele with a single lipstick pup and a single vol/tone pot.
Totally natural like yours. and as minimal as possible.
I just love Teles and I just love yours. Job well done bro.

I cannot believe the quality of this competition. I know we say it each month and I know that it has to stop at some stage, but the quality just keeps getting better. What a brace of professional quality guitars. Well done all.
Even if you paid me I wouldn't want to be a judge.

Oh not at all! I figure once I have the kit it might take 4 or 5 days.....to sand the 1/4'' off the body for the cap if I can't find find someone with a large planer.
I have a hand held planer but it's only a 3'' wide blade. One or two under passes under a large planer would make things so much easier.
A quick mockup of what I'd like to do. Grey in the middle pic is what will be left after it's routed.
I was going to dye it but after seeing TL's Tele I'm going with natural!

Ok, the last of the judge's votes are now in and we can reveal the winner of...
Pit Bull Guitars February 2015 Guitar of the Month
Runner's Up in submission order:
Paul Kelly’s JR-1DC Gypsy
“Well finished in Carmine Gypsy and some nice grain from the basswood body. Missing a headstock logo would have completed the look of this fine looking axe.”
“Nice clean guitar”
“No logo - it's a great guitar - own it with something personal! Like the black on the headstock - if it were a little darker, it may have brought it all together slightly better - then again, it could be the light . Digging the minimalist look. “
“Nicely done. Bet it sounds as good as it looks too.”
Csim’s ES-1GT "C-3PO"
“This ES is really striking the yellow gloss finish really suits this style of guitar. Again missing a headstock logo put a name on it, you should be proud of this build.”
“Looks great, the mirror finish is fantastic.”
“Nice colour very classy”
“No logo - it's a great guitar - own it with something personal! The depth of the black on the headstock really ties it in with the pickguard and black knobs. May have been tempted to look at a black or gold switch cover as the white doesn't really tie in. Overall great effect!”
“Awesome looking guitar. grabs the attention right away. Flamed maple is finished so very well! Wiring looks neat too.“
Gav Turner’s LPA-1
“Love the burst and the colour choice really suit this beautiful ash body. Nice hardware upgrades very happy how this guitar sounds and looks. Another masterpiece from Gav !”
“Love how the grain pops. Really nice finish. “
"Nice burst, grain really pops.”
“Overall great piece of work - only thing that doesn't grab me is the gold knobs and the silver bridge - I think a gold kit would have made this totally stunning!”
“So tastefully completed. The burst on the ash is so sweeeeet! Nice upgrades too.”
Jacob’s TL-1HA
“For a young builder and first, build Jacob has done a really good job of this guitar, the colours black and green really suit this model, you should be proud of this build well done Jacob.”
“Finished well.”
“Bit more prepwork needed, but it will still be a great rocker.”
“Love the headstock - nice and individual and matches the logo. Only thing I can take away from this guitar is that it feels like the knobs are a bit bunched up for my liking. Maybe also a couple of screws short on the pickguard.”
Peter H’s MMB-4
“I really like how the pickguard looks over the purple metallic paint, nice mods on this build, a classy build, I bet this bass sounds as good as it looks.”
“Looks great, nicely done.”
“A clean heavy thumper . Nice”
“Love the overall effect. While tortoise shell's not my top pick for pickguards, it fits nicely with this bass. Mods are great as well!”
“Nice combo with the colour and looks the part, a beautifully finished Bass.”

TC-1600’s TLA-1
“Love the light brown stain on this ash body really shows off the grain nicely. The string through is a nice touch. Again it's missing a headstock logo would have finished this build off nicely.”
“Simple is good, really nicely finished.”
“Naked no frills Tele Very nice.”
“Just love the simplicity and elegance of this build. It all just works! Needs a logo and a wipe over the shiny bits with a soft cloth before the glamour shots and it'd be stunning!”
“Quite a few have stuck to highlighting the Ash. This is another fine choice!”
And... before we announce the Runner Up and the Winner, a special mention to Peter H with his MMB-4, which missed out on the Runner Up by only 1/4 of a point.
So, the Runner Up for Guitar of the Month ("not if I had my way" - Adam) is Andrew with his TL-1 Walkertone Cavalier.
“Another beautiful build from Andrew, this tele looks mean and bet it puts out a crunchy sound with the rail humbuckers. The colours work really well, a tele to be proud of.”
“Nicely finished.”
“Future telenapper victim.”
“Nicely done - I think the colours are a nice blend and all fit the bill.”
“I just love this guitar. It is an absolute 10/10 but what a choice again this month? Love the wood binding. So thoughtful. Combinations are just perfect.”
"This belongs in the Pit Bull Guitars Tele Hall of Fame (aka my Tele collection)."
And the winner is...
NeverWas’s ES-2V
"This build oozes class and the Bigsby, colour choice and pickguard makes this a very attractive guitar, this build will be hard to top ! Great effort Grant.”
“Fantastic. This has wow factor oozing out of it. I would be drawn towards this.”
“Nice classic look.”
“Wow! It looks stunning - only changes I’d make would be put a logo on it - own it - it's yours and would look at chrome knobs of some form - the mix of chrome and gold doesn't quite gel for me. The chrome Bigsby is a great look on the guitar though and fits in with the build perfectly.“
“Wow - what an art piece! Love the burst. Awesome upgrades. A guitar players guitar indeed! “
Congratulations Neverwas that is a truly sensational build and the way you pulled off the vintage burst really appealed to the judges. I don't know anybody who wouldn't want this guitar on their wall.
Cheers,
Adam
