It’s like watching paint dry, literally.

Slight concern: the Rick bass pickup height and the shimmed neck height. Will the pickup have to be surface mounted like a 6-string 330 or 360?

Also, neck doesn’t want to go into pocket anymore.

After staining the neck on my rca-4 also no longer fit.

It turned out to be because wood absorbed so much liquid and became swollen from the water based stain I used. I don't remember how long it took, but it seemed like a very long time. But eventually the wood dried and the pieces fit again.

This looks unreal. As Rook said, give it a good chance to dry out and the neck should fit again. Not sure regarding your pickup question. I wold put it together and see how if goes first.

Basses are fine, I prefer guitars....But I just love Rick basses and yours looks like another stellar build in the making.

When setting the neck, I should replace the bridge, clamp the neck in, install two machineheads, strings, scratch plate and pickups for alignment etc. But, should I glue at the same time, or do I remove the neck again and glue without the strings on.
Or do all that without glue to make sure then do it all again with glue. Just answered my own question, I think.

Don’t think I need a shim. Bridge about 2/3 of way up, string just about rings enough to set intonation. Am I missing something?
