I like the direction you are heading with the Maple.... a real buggar though when the Maple doesn't want to cooperate...

What are your plans for the back and the neck?

Will wood stain something light coloured or possibly just natural.

Redid the stain and rubbed back again though not as far as the last time. Happy with where its at . Top will be stained and the back will be F&W Old Baltic stain. The side of the cap will be natural like binding - just have to work out the transition from area between the guitar horns to the sides as the cap is thick and tapers to the 5mm on sides.
Not sure how to finish as the steel wooling back has made this smooth as and probably no good for oil/dingotone style finish.

    Looking good Tony.

TO would work OK on a super smooth and shiny surface and maybe the DT neck finish might work too as most necks are fairly smooth and tightly grained. Its only the DT stain colours that won't penetrate a highly polished surface.

So now having to take some time off good opportunity to catch up on all the projects that have been sitting.
So few scratches and dings from sitting around so sanded back again and have to recolour again.
The neck heal and body area is really awkward so need to scallop a bit and didn’t thing I’d have any way of clamping if scalloped before neck gluing so went ahead and glued in.
Thinking of leaving natural on the back and using a coat or two of tru oil to give a bit of colour and then maybe clearcoat.

What's the little routed area above the control cavity?

Also, thanks for posting after two years and not being finished...

I feel better about the two builds sitting in the shed. One of which was started last November.
