Zandit's First Build Thread

Hate to break it to you Zandit, but those are 473 caps, meant to be paired with single coil pickups. These caps might lead to a muddier sound than desirable. Humbuckers are usually paired with 223 capacitors which allow more treble through to combat a humbucker's naturally duller tone.

Haha, that happens. I know they're only cheap things, but thanks to Stan, I'll have a set ready to go. These ones I got from my friend will go into the next build!

I had to get creative with hanging the guitar body today. I commandeered a kids teepee we had for when my niece comes to visit, and turned it into a makeshift hanger to allow it to dry after applying the first coat of clear finish on the back and sides.


I'm using the British Paints Clear Varnish as shown on the first page. Hopefully it will create a nice hard finish after enough coats that I can get a good polish to it. Probably not the best weather for this product today, but it has dried pretty well already. Will give it a few more days before adding the next coat.

Hey, it works!!!
There was no room in the garage thanks to the wifes car, besides, it's cold and damp out in the shed due to the weather, and thanks to the clothes dryer, the temperature is inconsistent. I had no room in the wardrobes, and there is no way the light fittings would handle the weight. It was my only option, and it won't be the only time I use it!!
