    Yeah, patterning off the stock plastic but probably wasn't the greatest plan, but I've left myself a little height for reshaping or cutting deeper. We'll see how we go, just another fiddly little skill to hone!

    So I'm one coat down on the DT clear and this is how it looks this morning.
    @Wazkelly, this is what I did with the jack. It uses a flea bay black barrel jack.

    There is some nice grain in that timber and the DT really brings it out.. nice job...

    Yeah I was thinking the same, I'm going to hunt around for some bigger bits of alder and do a bookmatched body blank. Eventually.

    Does anyone know if it is safe/feasible to skip the intensifier coat and move straight to the finish coat? I'm really liking the rawness of the body at the moment, not sure that I want to deepen that colour anymore.
