Hi Guys
The Luthier guy turned out to be not viable, he was really a vintage guitar restorer/repairer, and wanted about £600 just to look at it. However, he did give me a few ideas of what to do....
Cheers Simon, will do
Just found a guitar maker who does repairs as well, been at it for 40 years so should have a good idea, he has a good write up, only about half an hour away, so I think it's probably worth a visit...
Thanks Simon, that's a good idea. There a Luther's supplies that I know, so he might be able to sort out a plate, or perhaps I might have to have one made specially. Thanks for your help - much...
As far as I remember everything was in order when I glued it - no gaps anywhere, neck joint was flat, didn't clamp too hard etc. But obviously I've messed up somewhere. Not sure I am going to be...
Thanks Simon, sounds like a bit of a major job. Yes, used regular the Titebond, left it clamped for 3 days. As you say the neck ends were clean when I glued it. I can't move the neck at all by hand...
Hi Everyone, long time no post from me, been away with work, Christmas etc. Doen a few gigs with my new RCA4 - absolutely chuffed to bits, sounds great, just got a new TC Electronics amp as well...
Well done everyone, some really nice looking guitars there
This is Betsy, my first ever guitar build. All parts are as supplied, except the scratchplate - but I think the pearloid makes it into something a bit different. Been an enjoyable experience and the...
Thanks Wazkelly, I'll sort that out

Thanks Zandit, might do that !
Thanks for the great comments guys. I am well chuffed with it, the pics don't really do it justice. Happy with sound, the hamburger go he's a really nice deep bass tone, and the single coil is...
Here's a couple more
Here's some pics
Well guys, let me introduce you to Betsy.
Since last message, pockets, scratchplate jack socket shielded, pickups finished and wiring completed, strings fitted. Left it overnight, retightened...
OK, neck is on, all looking good - beginning to look like a bass guitar now ! Just started shielding the cavities now before I start the assembly and wiring.
Brilliant - thanks a lot
Hi Guys, just looking at the wiring. Does it matter which pot is used for the bridge and neck pickups, and vol and tone. In the kit I have 2 posts marked B500k, and two marked A504.
Thanks
Thanks Guys, off we go then with the glue !
Hey Guys, just finished flatting the top laquer now, used 2000 grit wet and dry, and then polished a couple of times - looks great, got a super smooth finish, really chuffed with it.
Just before a...
Thanks for the tip, I haven't removed the masking tape from the end of the neck yet, but I will make sure it's all clean round the neck and the pocket before gluing.
Finshed the top coat now, as I have used a spray top coat on top of the tinted laquer Inow have to wait a view days before I can start the flatting. However have now scraped the binding, so it's...
Hi Tony, it was just a standard tinted lacquer, however the colour was one he made up specially. The standard blue came out more greeny, so he played around with the colour mix and came up with...
Hi Guys,
Been a bit of a delay since my last post, been busy with work, plus had a major problem with Wudtone UK, complete waste of time they are. Sold me a blue stain, which came as a 3 pack....
