Adam if you can find another one piece body in your stock you can count me in for one.. what a score ..
Bummer Waz those pesky edges it is so touchy they never hold enough clear coat.. you will make them disappear in short order. Looking good.
This will be on of my next builds for sure.. looking good and can't wait to see it progress. Nice work so far.
Thanks Andy, Franken, and Kick.. I hope to get this one wrapped up this month.
Yeah Wokka, I am making pickup covers out of the same flames maple and will stain the brown to match.. the bridge is from Sanderg, it is a company from the U.K. The make some pretty nice basses sold...
Well I did a little work on the ib-5. I still have to make the pickup covers and I have to wait for the the hand wound pickups I ordered from a guy in France.. I think when they are stained the brown...

Don't be sad Kick.. the widow is gonna be a GOTM winner I'm sure.. but with sprayed poly or lacquer it is easy to get this look. Just takes time and patience.
Pictures, pictures we need pictures.. I can't wait to see this project completed..
Well I made a custom white pearloid pickguard to match the guitar build #1. I have hipshot elephant ear open gear tuners with a drop tuner for the e string in chrome. I have a preamp system with...
Thanks Waz.. the pics don't even do it justice. I wish I didn't have to reduce the size the original pictures look so much better..
Well I finally got some time to wet sand, cut and buff my bass build. Here is how it turned out. I used a different water based polyurethane on this one. Varathane brand and I think I like this one...
Wow that is coming along great.. use the end in sight.. nothing like putting hardware on knowing that it will soon be complete. Can't wait to see and hear it..
Thanks JJGeodus
Wow that would look pretty cool.. and it really makes the red pop. How would you do that? Painted on or with some type of decal?
Agreed Waz, it almost looks like it was made as a neck thru with that stripe or a multilam body.. gonna look killer..
Sorry to hear about the veneer.. but I think it's gonna still look nice when the final finish goes on.. I wish they could use about double the thickness of veneer so we could sand it more without...
Nice looking kit.. I'm sure others would have liked to see it as a forum special deal.. can't wait to see it complete..
You going with a clear finish on that beauty?
Yeah thanks for the heads up Simon.. this is a 30" short scale so the bridge is right behind the back pickup rout.. actually the ground wire hole is about where the mounting screws for the bridge...
