That is a great looking guitar (I'm partial to the desert burst). This build diary is very comprehensive. Thanks for the effort in documenting this build. I finished a PB LP in a similar style a...
Wow! I Agree with Pablopepper, Rook and TRV outstanding. Both amazing looking with high quality finishes. I love the bursts on both of these. Well done.....Good luck picking a winner.
Thank you for the great feedback. This was very enjoyable build for me. I find this community provides plenty of inspiration. Looking forward to the next build. Congratulations to all entries. Thanks...

Maybe down the track. Im really looking forward to putting some miles on this build before I look at the next. I'm sure i'm not alone when I say to many guitars not enough hours in the day.
No noise yet. Still waiting on pick ups. No not stock hard ware. Epiphone quick connect wiring harness with push pull wire tapping, Epi jack and toggle switch. With Epiphone probuckers on there way...
Thanks Phrozin. I'm very happy with the finish, originally thought I might end up with a tabacco burst, but after the golden teak stain went on it was never going to be anything but desert burst. The...
Thats a sweet LPJ. Shame there not a PB left handed option.
Andrew the LPJ in your avatar photo is that a PBG kit?
Thanks Andrew. Sort of lost count, probably 5 or 6 thin coats to build up a top coat. Then a final coat after a light sand (600grit).
Some more Photos while I wait for pick ups.
Just another shot of the back
Thanks again for the great feed back. Its been a very enjoyable build for me. Its nice to have it come out just how I pictured. Looking forward to playing it.
After a long groundhog day, the finish is complete. After lapping in the pickup surrounds for that sweet fit, I have installed some upgrade components, Grover Deluxe tuners and an Epiphone quick...
Final coat of poly after 600 wet and dry sand, its been a long few weeks but final result is close to spot on, I will give it a week or two to cure and then give it a polish. Then looking forward to...
This part of the build seem to be like groundhog day. But the work put in here is the difference between having a product you look at and love or something you look at and and think if only I did...
Hey thanks. I was going for a gold colour but the paper I used was clear not white, that is good to know. I will remember that if I ever need to print colour again.
I left the first few coats of poly cure over the weekend and gave it all a light sand (600) and then branded it. looking forward to getting a few more coats on it.
I thought I would share another...
I really like what you have going on here, its giving me a real appreciation for the bass, I built an SGB-34 at the beginning of the year for my son. It may be time to get one for myself.
PS I...
I have applied two coats of Poly (Cabots Gloss aerosol ) the colour has really started to pop. In particular the back, the darker edges and the burst are looking better than expected. Photos were...
Body and Neck all finished, binding has had a scrape, looking to finish up with some poly this week. I'm happy with the way this has turned out, Its not how I originally pitched the back to look, I...
SGB-34 bass, I went looking for one of these kits finished and could not find one on this forum, so here it is finished in Classic white with racing stripes. Standard kit equipment no upgrades. Hope...
I mucked around with the colour on the back and neck last night. It has finished up looking spot on, the neck and head stock have a real vintage look going on, I also reworked the front of the head...
