Welcome to the club.
Picked mine up for $60 in Perth also. Sweet amp, looking to upgrade my internals as mine is a little noisy.
Love it.

Wow, what a line up. I am glad mine isn't quite done, not sure it would get a look in with this range of sweet builds.
Well done all, this will be a tough one.
95% done, logo is being redesigned, stock pickups a bit muddy with crunch added sounds ok clean. Magnet change coming, hopefully that will restore some clarity.
Thanks for the nice comments.
Alas, I don't think I will be making it for the GOTM right now. Still waiting for a few bits and logo progress is nowhere. Might have to send Andy some proofs and see...
Thanks Bargey.
Need to get some more nuts and washers for the bourns mini's.
Can someone tell me what are the threads (US apparently) and where I can get them easily?
Cheers.
Been a busy few days, plenty of sanding and polishing.
Need to change a few things, do some soldering, get my logo sorted, tune the nut and change the magnets out of the stock pickups.
Now I can't let Gav's LP get all the attention.
Here is a mock up while the clear coat is drying. 10 days down, judging by the smell of the solvents I reckon another week and it will be pretty...
Sweet axe Gav, one superb LP.
I hope it sounds sweet. Now hurry up with the sound demo!
Wokks,
a lot of the old school LP's had cream jack plates. Now my LP will have all gotoh hardware - nickel, with all parts cream pickup surrounds and probably upgraded pickguard etc. Pic attached...
Reader poll,
upgraded jack plate: nickel, or cream?
Looks like Scott and I share the same thoughts on wiring and shielding. I shielded my strat and left my LP alone. What he said!
There is also any Aussie company selling most of the bits you are looking for. As long as you have a list of what you need they can usually put a package together.

Gav looking good. Must be getting exciting, as every new guitar build does when you first plug it in after months of bonding time.
Here's my take on the wiring. My LP is wired in the vintage...
@Wokka, will have to drop in sometime - about 50min away from me. If you are in the swan valley anytime feel free to drop in.
@Weirdy, sounds close to what I am trying to achieve without the...
Thanks for the heads up Weirdy. What mods did you do to the stock pickups or did you just need some parts?
Hey Wokks, which burb is the 4D factory in Perth?
Wokks,
using what I have left of some acrylic clear lacquer (septone). Not sure if there will be any coats to follow. Will let it cure and then see how it sands. May try just spraying some...
Thanks - @Stan and @Gav.
Sprayed clear this morning, I ended up using my bigger gun, boy did it churn through my clear. Anyways, seemed to go on alright minus some orange peel. So now the waiting...
Sweet guitars all round. Congrats to all participants and those that scored a place on the winners podium. I raise my hat to those that donate their time and effort to help us all and even more to...
Thanks all,
you have convinced me to remove all the tape and paper. Just need to give the top a fine thinners only mist coat. The temps this morning left me with a little orange peel on my last...
Coming together nicely Gav.
real interested to hear this guitar sing.
Not the best day for spraying but seemed to come out of the gun ok earlier.
Not bad for my first attempt at a burst but not 100% happy with my darkest colour blend. Forum opinion - would you go...
Thanks Scott.
Stan, never done a burst before so thought I had better try it out. It serves a few things, gives me better knowledge and control of my gun, gives me practice on how to blend and...
Well the blend didn't turn out too bad. Have applied some more clear coats to make sure if I stuff up the burst at least I can sand back a bit.
Here is my practice for today. Will try the actual...
You are right Stan.
some days though you do too much. Today I couldn't help myself, scraping the binding I was then felt a bit of a edge stocking out on the neck join and the very last of the...
