OP, which strings did you end up using? And may I have a picture of the nut?
Hey guv, I am building the same kit (though much more modestly) and thr D'Addario super long scale strings appear to be too short. Which strings did you use?
Do you know in which section of the forums should I look? The keyword "HBB-5" gives no results.
Hi all!
I have just finished constructing the HBB-5, and noticed normal long-scale strings don't fit it. I got some super long scale D'Addarios and they still don't fit. And the bridge seems too...

We have two kinds of turpentine here, one of them synthetic. I guess that's the stuff.
And I am in Israel. Imagine the challenges I face - have to translate yaalls handiman lingo to proper...
I have already sanded some of the binding off in the neck pocket area and around its edges, so we either have a different definition of "tough", or I got gorilla hands. Probably both.
But sharp...

2....
Thank you so much, fellas. I enjoy the process, but it is twice as much fun when I know it can actually succeed.
Now for 30 coats I am starting to wonder how many bottles I will need. I have the...
It's the HBB-5 semihollow bass. Top is plywood, the rest is normal wood, 3 pieces. I have only now learned about the term "end grain". Gonna try. On the neck too - only the very edge of the headstock...
Okay, this is encouraging. So the next step is to let it sit for two more days and then sand again? Then I have a few followup questions:
1. The top of this kit is plywood, and it seems to be...
Hello folks. I wanted to consult with you about some problems I am having with my first kit. I have sanded it with 320 and 600 for results that seemed "even enough" to me, other than some points...
